Shopathome is a website that allow people to earn cash back on the purchases they make everyday. Once they have accummilated enough cash back a check will be mailed to them with their earnings. Recently Shopathome added surveys to their site so that users can also earn cash back by taking surveys. Shopathome was changing and in need of a homepage that better served their users.
Shopathome and I agreed that there homepage lacked heiracrhy and order and that made for a less than ideal experience for users. Shopathome used a company called Rich Relevance to personalize its recommendations. But when analyzing the homepage Shopathome was not happy with the quality of recommendations that were being served up. We decided that generating our own recommendations based off of outclicks, revenue, and frequecy would be a good way sort out merchants. With that imformation we could give people relevent content and personalize their experience.
